Evidence-Based

Our program is modeled after gold-standard summer intensive treatment programs. Utilizing graduated exposure, Brave Explorers Camp draws upon the foundation of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT-SM) from Steven Kurtz, PhD.

“In-Vivo” School Setting

By creating an environment that models a school setting, campers engage in activities that include morning circle, free play, snack, small group, recess, lunch, and behavioral rehearsal in preparation for community exposure activities (aka field trips)!

1:1 Therapeutic Ratio

Each camper is matched with a trained counselor during lead-in sessions to focus on reducing anxious avoidant verbalizations. This allows tailored and individualized therapeutic interactions for each camper’s unique speaking goals.

The Brave Explorers Camp Experience Is Comprehensive

Though Brave Explorers Camp is an intensive experience that spans 5 days, the entire treatment process is
multi-component with assessment and intake, lead-in sessions, camp, and optional follow-up sessions.
